Aerial

Approximately 90% of our larvicide application is done via our two aircraft during the daytime.  Products which target mosquito larvae and pupae are dispensed into their habitats which deny the mosquito a chance to mature into an adult.

Adulticide products are also dispensed via aircraft, at dusk and nighttime hours, allowing us to cover the large area within our district quickly and effectively.  Adulticide products are dispensed into the air using two atomizers at each wingtip.  We continually test our equipment to assure a 30 micron sized droplet is being produced and that application is within product label parameters.

Ground Units

Trucks are utilized for adulticide mainly in congested areas and also as a supplement to aerial operations.  When surveillance shows a significant rise in activity, ground units are dispatched to these locations.
