Field Technicians

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or equivalent education, and possess a current Washington State Driver’s License.  New hires will be required to pass WSDA Pesticide Applicators license exams. GCMCD will provide study materials necessary for exams. Applicants must be dependable, reliable, and be able to pass a drug screening test. Applicants must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. Applicants must be able to work independently as well as cooperatively with other employees and the public. Applicants must be able to walk long distances (4 to 5 miles) over uneven terrain, use a step ladder, able to lift and carry heavy loads (50 lbs), able to use a machete, tree-loppers, for clearing brush and trail making. Applicants with experience operating an ATV are encouraged to apply, but training is provided. Starting wage is $19.75/hour with a pay increase to $21.75/hour after attaining the WSDA Pesticide Applicators license. No previous experienced required for this job. Scheduled hours are Monday through Thursday, ranging from 30 to 40+ hours a week with the possibility of occasional weekend and evening work. Hours may vary depending on mosquito activity. Laboratory Assistants

Applicants must be dependable, reliable, and be able to pass a drug screening test. Applicants must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. Applicants must be able to work independently as well as cooperatively with other employees and the public. Applicants must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain, able to use step ladder, able to physically lift and carry heavy loads (50 lbs), and able to use a machete, tree-loppers, for clearing brush and trail making. Applicants must also have good vision and the ability to use a microscope for mosquito identification. Starting wage is $19.75/hour with a pay increase to $21.75/hour after attaining the WSDA Pesticide Applicators license. No previous experience required for this job. Scheduled hours are Sunday afternoon through Thursday, ranging from 30 to 40+ hours a week with the possibility of occasional Friday and evening work. Hours may vary depending on mosquito activity.
